The hotel is located right across the bus terminal. We arrived around 1pm, so we managed to drop our bags before check-in time. We had booked a double room, but they gave us an upgrade to a suite on the top floor. It was amazing. We think it had to do with a large group of students staying that night... The onsen facilities were very nice and not too crowded before dinner (at check-in, staff recommended time slots for the onsen too). Despite this large group staying, the restaurant service was also smooth. The hotel was very, very busy that day, and still, staff was very helpful and they were really nice to all of us. The buffet options were really good and staff was always restocking. They had a lot of people around to ensure everything was working.

The breakfasts were very nice, lots of choices of food, a number of nearby restaurants in the town was also nice to give some further options for food for dinners - the Onsens were lovely, one indoor one outdoor (which can be closed if water levels get too low during winter) - I stayed in one of the Tatami rooms, which was very nice as staff would set up and put away beds each day, Yukatas are provided which fit most sizes.

The onsen was superb, one of the best I've been to – the water was heavenly hot and the sauna had Finnish löyly facilities, very rare in Japan! Also liked the free drinks offered at the dressing room. The dinner and the breakfast were very sufficient (I could almost say there was too much to choose from).

Akira

Amazing onsen with a neat outdoor section and a sauna. Great location as well. It's right next to Donan bus station which has daily shuffle buses from and to downtown Sapporo, CTS airport, etc. (Online reservation required.) A great and affordable choice for experiencing Noboribetsu Onsen.
